Why We Quit: The Missing Piece in Goal-Setting Isn’t Action—It’s Belief

Have you ever set a goal with every intention of following through—only to abandon it a few weeks later?

Maybe you thought it was a motivation issue. Or that you just needed to “try harder.” But what if the problem wasn’t your effort… what if it was your belief?

For years, I operated with the idea that if I could just do the right things, success would follow. I’d map out a plan, set my goals, and get to work. But so often, I found myself quitting before the results ever showed up. And it wasn’t because I didn’t care—it was because I didn’t believe.

We’ve been taught that behavior change starts with action. But real transformation begins with awareness.

In this season of my life—coaching farm women, entrepreneurs, and heart-centered leaders—I’ve seen it over and over again: the difference between stuck and unstoppable is belief.

Your subconscious mind runs 90% of the show. If it’s still wired for scarcity, unworthiness, or fear of failure, no amount of doing will override that programming long-term.

To change your life, you need to update your internal operating system.
And that starts by understanding how beliefs are formed—and how you can create new ones.

Here’s what I’ve learned:

  • Beliefs come from repetition + emotional impact
    You didn’t come into the world doubting yourself. Somewhere along the line, you were taught to. The good news? You can unlearn it.

  • Belief change begins with awareness
    We can’t shift what we can’t see. Becoming aware of your patterns and your pain is the first brave step.

  • Sometimes belief has to be borrowed
    When we’re too deep in our own fear or failure, we need someone else to hold belief for us. That’s the power of coaching, community, and mentors.
